Hello All,

My Fiance went to the Nigerian embassy on November 20th and was approved. The https://ceac.state.govwebsite was update on 11/24 that the visa was issue. He waiting in Lagos till 11/26 hoping that he will be able to get his passport by then but it still was not available.

I am wondering if others received this delay in their passport being returned to them with Visa.

Tried using the http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-passportretrieve.aspto check the status but it did not produce any results.

Tried to call DHL they said that it is not ready yet.

Any Suggestions of how long it is suppose to take

There was a US holiday shortly after your issuance so this probably delayed things a bit for you. I don't know how fast DHL moves in Nigeria, you might want to check your regional forum and timelines of other K-1 visa holders in Nigeria with the same time frame as yours to get an idea.

Well for Lagos it takes 5 business days (7 days total ) to get Visa. So that makes it the 27th which was Thanksgiving. Tell him to Call Monday.

Its nothing to worry about... its the thanksgiving holiday nut its usually 1week after but immigrant visas are usually ready for pick Tuesday and thurdays. Congrats once again
