Effect of I94 expiration and F1 status for a person married to a US citizen

I am an F1 student married to a US citizen. My visa expired in July of this year, but I am attending school full time and thus maintinting my F-1 status. Recently I got my I-20 renewed and it says I have until Aug 2015 to complete my graduate studies. My I94 expires on Nov 30th 2014, a few days from today. Am I in trouble?

I have already initiated the process of getting for a green card, it's been almost 5 months I have received my NOA 1 for I-130.

Thanks

F-1 visa only needed to get into USA.

After you are in USA, the I-20 is what gives you authorization to stay in USA.

You can almost stay indefinitely in USA with expired visa as long as you keep getting new I-20s with extended dates for new degree programs, etc. But you can't leave USA and then try to re-enter USA with expired F-1 visa.

I am surprised that your I-94 has an expiration date on it. Usually for F-1 visa entries, the I-94 says D/S which means good for duration of studies.

But again, regardless of I-94 dates, it is the I-20 which will keep you safe in USA.

Thank you so much for you reply. I didn't know D/S meant that, I do have D/S for Admit until date, but my online I-94 has an expiration date on the top right had corner, and it says Nov 20 2014, and that's the thing that got me scared. What is that date for anyway?

The "Admit Until Date" is the important one.

And, as you say, it indicates D/S. So you will be in good status in USA as long as your I-20 has time left AND you are actually in good standing at the school that issued the I-20.

I see the Expiration Date in upper right hand corner also.

Not sure what it means, but I think it has something to do with when that form might disappear from their computer system, but not sure.
