Student visa or K1

I have been thinking a lot about the student visa followed by an adjustment of status versus fiancé visa. At least one response to my OP was in regards to expenses. To get a student Visa, I have to show $36500US to qualify. The annual fees for international students equate to approximately $12000 (state tuition is ~$9500 compared to international tuition at ~$21000 annually). I understand that I have to travel to an interview for the fiancé visa. I think the fiancé visa would be better financially but possibly slower but I am not sure. Can anybody provide more clarity?

What would happen if I were to submit the fiancé Visa and the university worked towards the student visa?

Thanks

One is an immigrant visa the other is non immigrant.

I understand the difference between the two visas. The suggestion by most was to take the study visa and in the fall apply for a change of status as it was likely the easiest and cheaper. I am wondering whether or not I would be further ahead going the fiancé visa given the reduced tuition fees and a possibility of working sooner.

Using a student visa to enter and adjust is no different to using an tourist visa to enter and adjust.

You wouldn't likely get a reduced tuition fee until after getting your EAD, possibly until you have your greencard. It'd take another year or so to get the k1

To get a student visa with the intent to adjust status later on would be considered fraud FYI. You would be using a non-immigrant visa to immigrate.

Also to get a reduced tutition fee you need to follow whatever requirements that the school has for in-state tuition. They vary by school. Likely you will need a green card and then prove that you've lived in that state for 1 year. Sometimes they let you get the in-state if your spouse has lived there for 1+ years.
