Hello, I'm interested in filing a K3 visa for my husband. What is the first step in filing paperwork? And how long would it take to receive initial documents from NVC?

First step would be realising it is effectively dead and going the CR1/IR1 route.

Okay it would be best if you read the guides on a I-130 petition.

If you want to know about NVC read the NVC process wiki in my signature.

The K3 especially for Lagos is dead so forget that you will be submitting a I-130. If you want to file a I-129F you can nothing to stop you but it will net you nothing because they approve them pretty much together and if a I-10 is approved the I-129F has to be closed.

So you are looking at 5 months to a year from filing to interview barring any mishaps, RFE's, Checklist or issues.

Exacyly what initial documents re you referring to from NVC? Cuz they don't send you any documents.
