Co Sponsors for Manila Embassy

Does any know if the Manila Embassy allow cosponsors for either I-129 or I-130?

Let's get the semantics out of the way first.

When dealing with any petition that requires the filing of an I-864 such as an I-130; joint sponsor is the proper term, not co-sponsor.

To address your question,

By law, when an immigrant visa is being sought, joint sponsors are always allowed, the Embassy in Manila follows the law in this regard.

When you mentioned I-129, were you inquiring about the K1 process? If so, then it's the I-129F that must be filed. As it relates to your question, the Embassy has discretion on whether or not to allow a co-sponsor. I've seen many posts that co-sponsors are often disallowed in Manila in K1 cases.

I'm the US citizen. My fiancee currently resides in Philippines. My intentions were to initiate a I-129F, but I was told by an immigration lawyer that it may be denied because of the income requirements. I have always had stable income, but this current year, I decided to pursue further education and took off for a year so that I can get done as soon as possible. I was told by the lawyer that the Embassy in Manila does not allow for joint sponsors when filing with the I-129F. We wanted our wedding to happen in the states, but I'm also considering having the marriage take place in the Philippines. If that happens, I understand that I can petition her using the I-130.

Right now, that is the case. Wait times from filing to adjudication decision from a service center are about the same. However, for the spousal visa process, the NVC phase of the process is taking some time. From what I've read, it may take up to and even longer than two months before receiving a case number and then another two month wait to have your material reviewed. As always, this is subject to change for better or worse.
