Just wondering where people who came on a K1 visa got married? We want a small wedding for the legal formalities and then a bigger one in a couple years time. Does anyone have any ideas on where would be quite cheap to get married with only about 10 guests?? We'll be in AZ but we would travel to other states - my parents say vegas (they want to go!)!!

I don't know about where to go AZ but my husband and I got married in Florida on the beach in clearwater and I can't recommend that highly enough! We had about 15 guests and it was nice because none of his, or my family are from FL so it allowed everyone to travel and get a holiday out of it which they all really enjoyed as my parents went to orlando and hubby's folks went on a cruise after so the wedding was included in their summer holiday plans. I too plan to have a big wedding later, but now that I've been married for 7 months I doubt I will just because my little beach wedding was perfect! Good luck with the wedding plans!

We had 3 weddings!!! My husband's running joke is that he has been married 3 times to the same woman :D

First we had a court house wedding to get the paperwork going. Six months later we had a summer wedding in town with mostly his family from all over the States and our mutual friends. It was a lovely day and we had a small wedding (60 guests max). I was glad that we were able to keep the costs down, and yet enjoy the company of people we are closest with.

Our third and last wedding was at my hometown in Indonesia where we had 500 guests!! The whole ordeal was very formal. It was also such a tiring event, but full of meaning for both my husband, his family and my family. He was finally able to see where I grew up, met all my family and friends and enjoy the tasty food.....All I can say is that I am glad the weddings are all over!!!

Joel and I had a very intimate wedding in the garden of a dear friend, who also co-officiated the wedding. We plan on having a reaffirmation ceremony in his village back in Nova Scotia when we're able to travel home again.

We got married in a mansion in Broken Arrow, OK with a grand total of 20 people present. 60 more showed up for the reception afterwards. Then we had two parties in Nova Scotia where about 150 people total came. Worked for us. :)

Joe and I had a lovely and intimate ceremony under a bower in the heritage gardens of an historic plantation, surrounded by ancient magnolia trees and towering sycamores. We wrote our own ceremony and were married by a mutual friend who is a judge, who also advised us on the ceremony. Afterwards, we enjoyed refreshments in a local tearoom. There were 7 of us in all and it was wonderful:-). We made a donation to the historic site in exchange for permission to use the gardens.
