Has anyone encounter any problems with their Affidavit of Support - Household Size part during interview at Islamabad embassy?

I am applying for my wife and so I put "2" in my household size. Is it going to be a problem at the time of interview?

Thank you.

Why would there be a problem? The only problem would be if your income for the number of ppl in your household falls below the prescribed poverty guidelines. you can have 100 ppl in your household, but you need to have enough income to support them.

There shouldn't be a problem if that number is correct and you do not have children either in your house living with you or living with their mother who are under age 18.

If you have no dependents and it is just you and your wife the household size is 2. If you have made a mistake on household size send her another Affidavit of Support with your original siginature and the correct household size to take to the interview.

Thank you for answering my question. We do not have any kids. It's just me and my wife so it will be 2.

I live with my parents and 2 sisters but I am not counted as their dependent on my parents taxes. I hope CO will not have any objection that if you live with your parents then you should have inlcuded them in your household size. Just wanted to make sure. Did you encounter any problem with your accepted Affidavit of Support during the time of interview.

If your parents are not joint sponsors then they are not counted in your household size.

As long as you can support your wife the CO will have no objections to you living with your parents.

Yes we had problems. NVC accepted our affidavit of support but the embassy wanted a joint sponsor. The embassy makes the final decision on if you meet the income requirement. My nephew became my joint sponsor and my husband is here with me now.

Prepare your wife for the interview by asking her questions the Co might ask. Pray and stay positive. Please keep me informed about what happens at the interview.
