REALLY NEED AN URGENT ADVISE, WE FILE MY HUSBAND AND HIS 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER I130 AT THE SAME TIME, (PD 05/11/13). WE GOT A REF FOR THE DAUGHTER'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE. USCIS IS NOT ACCEPTING THE 'NATIONAL POPULATION COMMMISION "BIRTH CERT ,

THIS QUESTION IS FOR THE NIGERIANS THAT HAS FILED FOR THEIR CHILDREN, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT KIND OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE DID YOU USE FOR THE CHILD.

What kind of birth certificate did you send in? Only the long form is accepted.

we sent the birth certificate that was issued by the "NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION", THOUGH IT NOT THE LONG version .

when we got the first ref, we took the BC' to their office on babs animasaun road,surulere and they said it was ok for her, only to get another ref cos of this.

i just wish someone that had file I130 for their children (under 18) can tell me what they put as the birth cert,

i tried doing an attestation of age at the population commission but they said that is only available for adult 18 year old and above.

NVC and embassy will only accept the long form. You must get that. The long form has more information has the parents and all that. So go back and insist from NPC the long form.

And NPC knows better they know embassy will only accept the long form.

I've heard this same thing from a friend and was confused about what she meant by long form. I sent the normal one given to me at an health center close to me. It's greenish in color. Mine was issued over 30years ago, a small paper , just like a receipt, and NVC accepted that of my kids and I. We dint have a problem with it, i don't know why others should. I hope this helps. You know arise many times also those reviewing the case aren't that knowledgeable about country specific things.

I would personally call into USCIS and demand to speak to a tier 2 supervisor and get some clarity on the matter.

Explain to them what the NPC said and all that you may get passed through.

yes just like Jojomo said, we sent this same greenish colour birth certificaate for the child, she's 12 years old, and we got a refrence telling us to go get a birth cert issued by "a competence authority". i even went as far as going to the high court to also make a declaration added to the birth cert. we submitted.

The national population office at Lagos said they'll only do attestation of birth for 18 years and above.

my application is approve but her's got the second ref,

THOUGH, I ONLY SEEN THAT SHE GOT A REF LAST NIGHT, WE'RE YET TO GET IT IN THE MAIL.

so like you said Jojome, it the same bc that i send, my wife will call uscis this evening.
