G325A Error Made - Worried!

Oh dear. My Fiancee just posted our documentation to the centre in California. After calling the helpline centre at USCIS to check, she signed both G325A's and put her name on the bottom. One set has my details (UK citizen) and one set has hers. I only found this site today!!!!!

SO - I am expecting a problem. An "RFE" from what I can see on the board elsewhere.

Will this mean we have to resubmit everything, or just the document with the error on? Will this mean extra weeks - I read about marking a reply to the RFE in red pen etc. to make it go through asap?

Things are very tight as we set a date for the wedding of 28th july, and with 90 days in California and 90 days in London to process, I am worried we will not make it in time.

Thanks for your help. I feel really sick because if I had known about this site It could have been avoided, and now we are in danger of messing the wedding plans up!

Cant help much on the 325a, if it was me I would call the USCIS again and tell them what happened and see if you can go ahead and send the corrected documents if needed before you get the rfe. Dont know if this is the right course of action just what I would do.

If you do get the rfe you wont have to resubmit everything only what the rfe asks for which in your case will probably just be the corrected 325a forms. To my knowledge there is nothing to make sure your rfe will get processed faster. Just make sure you follow the intructions on the rfe, and add your case number to anything you send back to them once you have a case number. Even on the envelope you send it back in mark it with Att: rfe case #.

Just a note be flexible with your wedding date its a very hard thing to set in stone especially with this process. We already changed ours 3 times and our new date is still only a tentive one.

Welcome to VJ. Sorry you have this happened. I got on line just before I mailed mine and this site really saved me some RFI'S I think.

It should only set you back a week or two at most. Don't worry and try to relax. If you ever need advice in here it is usually quick to get anwers here.

Amazing how the timings fluctuate for the same service centre and same countries. Will call the centre on Monday and get the papers out there. What's really annoying is that I called the helpline and was specifically told that the "Petitioner" should sign both. And, to clarify I checked that the petitioner was my US based fiance!

While July is still a possible month for your wedding (I believe so, as long as your case is straight forward), I agree with Catica that trying to call the USCIS and inform them about the mistake you've made would be a good idea. It would safe enough time to send the correct G325A right away instead of waiting for the RFE e-mails/letters from USCIS. Good luck and don't worry too much

My advise would be complete a new set of G325A for yourself, sign them, date them with the date you actually sign them and send them to your fiance'. That way, if there is an RFE, he has them in his possession and can forward to the Service Center as soon as he gets the RFE. That way, he doesn't have to wait on you to send the documents, they are in his possession and it will minimize the delay, if they do indeed give you and RFE.

Hey sapa_uscan, congrats on your NOA2! As for you robburnsefc, littles mistakes can happen no matter how hard you tried to avoid it. I'm sure the advices from our fellow VJers will help you a lot. We have minor errors on our G325a when we submitted it and we didn't do anything about it for now hoping they won't notice it. Otherwise, we might receive an RFE but we're keeping our fingers crossed that we won't. Good luck on your journey!
