Hello,

I was wondering if my fiance has to wait for the letter from the Embassy before completing the DS-160? I know it should not be submitted until we get the letter but I was wondering if there would be any harm in completing the form online and saving it now?

Thanks

One more question, does my fiance have to upload a photo for the DS-160 or can she just bring one to the interview? I read somewhere that bringing one to the interview is fine but I wanted to double check.

Yes, you can started filing the online form now. I filled out DS-160 form before I got an email for packet 3 from the US embassy in Jakarta. You can saved the file up to 30 days, as far as my knowledge.
