Hello, everyone. I sent in my I-601, and they sent me an RFE back. I know this is a good sign, because it means that they are reviewing my case now and also because they didn't outright reject it.

I am curious as to what the statistics are with RFE's. What percentage of these cases get approved? What is the difference between an RFE and a NOID? Does a NOID also ask people to sent more information in? Does anybody know, or does anyone have anything to say that would help me as I try to determine what my chances if success are? I am able to send them what they want, so I am not concerned about that.

Hi first I would like to ask when did you file your waiver?.I filed mine on April 8 2014 and received a what my lawyer calls boiler plate rfe which is sort of like to put us on hold so they can process older waivers.I received my rfe on July 26.I sent my response on Aug 26 and they sent me a letter saying I should receive a response within 60 days which it is almost now in oct.I am anxious to find out now.thanks

I am on the same boat. From what i was able to understand from other peoples experience, is that rfe is a good thing and chances of getting approved are high (given that you meet the requirements). If they wanted to deny your case, they would not have asked for an rfe. Quick question, on your notice is it an i797 or i797e?

Hi my notice does not have a I-797 number. It is just asking for the initial evidence I had already submitted. That is why my lawyer said it is a boiler plate rfe.She said it is common sometimes when they have a lot of work just to kind of kill time.I am hoping to hear back within the next couple of days.Which country are you filling and are filling while you are in the US?.Best luck I am from Mexico.
