Huh? She did not pass the law that prompted the change...

Further, the law was signed and went into effect on 7/27/06. It's the USCIS that has been sitting on it lo these many months, "interpreting" and then swinging into action in a heartbeat.

Ok, now I have a quick question- does this law make my visa invalid?

We filed my petition in Frankfurt on Sept. 1st and I had my visa in hand on the first of November.

I activated the visa just before Christmas and am now back in Germany for a little while before returning to the US for good.

ETA: I think Frankfurt has a USCIS field office and they still accept petitions filed directly in Frankfurt (at least according to a post here)

Can you direct me to the information that states I am able to file with Frankfurt? We are living in Munich and want to get our US visa filing underway while we are still living here. It is much easier to deal with it now while we have the time as opposed to needing it immediately.

In the United States federal government, Secretary of State has the unique meaning of the official responsible for foreign policy. In most other countries, this official is called the foreign secretary or foreign minister. The U.S. Secretary of State is head of the United States Department of State. In the presidential line of succession, the Secretary of State is the highest-ranking member of the Cabinet, and fourth overall. The current U.S. Secretary of State is Condoleezza Rice.

i'm very disappointed in you for blaming her for this law, as it's the realm of congress to pass laws. she's just supposed to implement such. i do hope you don't hold her at fault for carrying out the laws our government passes......
