Maria&Seve

At this point, may/june wedding sounds more accurate, I would say June. March is already there, even if you get an approval this month you guys would have to rush a lot and rely on luck for not have any kind of delay, always remember that Murphy's law totally exist in this process. Sad but true.

October was the last time I saw my fiancé, he came visit in september after being deployed for 2 months then we went to U.S and I stayed for a month. We agree that would be the last visit while we wait for this process then when I get my approval (inteview) he will fly to Brazil and we going to travel back together. I want him here when is time to move, I'll need moral support and luggage space lol.

Anyway

If you guys can see each other, DO IT! :)

Maybe the odds works in you favor and you get approval just because you travelled ahaha

Good luck!

Yeah, the logic side of me (brain) says June, my emotional side (heart) says June feels sooooooo much further away then May. Right now we are not setting a date but our unofficial date (so the emotional side of me can have something to look forward to so I don't break down) is May 30....

Travelling together back sounds so nice :) I've seen a few couples who plan on that and it sounds so romantic in a way :) I'm flying alone, everything I have left here fits into two bags and I know an airline from here that allows two without charging extra.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that soon we'll be back with our loved ones :)

May 30, sounds good! A good thing is that time of year is really nice, specially if you guys are planning an outside wedding.

For us is the same thing wedding May/June.

We're planning do some kind of "party" after I get my visa, something really simple and small just for family and close friends because they won't be able to travel, so they will have a chance to say bye for me and for those who didn't meet my fiancé meet him. It won't easy for me leave (emotionally talking), so my fiancé being there will help a lot.

Most of companies that fly to U.S from here allow 2 checked baggage of 32kg each. I should packed more last time I went there, now I have too many things to move, so smart.

Which company are you travelling or use to travel? I know Icelandair have good flights from Europe to U.S.

Yeah, I am just worried it might be too hot and humid since we are planning on an outside wedding down in Florida.

Most of the time I have flown with Icelandair, the other times it's been United and SAS. I know Icelandair and United allow for 2 bags but SAS are lame and only allow 1 bag and I think it's only 23kg. I am never flying SAS ever again. When my fiance came to visit last time he flew from Dulles to Frankfurt, waited for 4 hours and then flew to Stockholm. His bag went to a Spanish island outside Africa and then flown to Switzerland and since it seems like a lot of countries can't keep Sweden and Switzerland apart SAS had to call them and ask them to fly it to Sweden after it being stuck there for 1 or 2 days... Finally got it right before Christmas.

I prefer Icelandair though I would love it if they could start serving food to everyone and you wouldn't have to pay extra for it... Which Airline do you prefer?

I really like the part idea! Great way for everyone to say goodbye and to meet your fiance :) Leaving for good will be strange, especially not knowing when you can come back to visit. Have you spent a lot of time in the states before?

If you're worried about the heat and humidity in Florida that time of year, I'd recommend doing your wedding a little earlier in the day? Before noon. The heat isn't too bad in May, but if you're not accustomed to it, it can be rough. (I say its not 'too hot' but I'm biased. I've lived here all my life.) :)

I'm still holding out hope (though a very, very faint one) that we'll hear something this month. Even after getting the actual visa, I have to give 3 months notice for my job and my apartment. :/

I called a month ago and they said I should call today (6 months after my NOA1) to file an inquiry. Spoke with a Tier 2 immigrations officer today and they are either all clueless or lying. They say they are only processing May files and that it will be another 2 months before I am able to file an inquiry.

They say no one has even touched my case because they are working on May. I asked them why CSC is going much faster and that I am trying to raise awareness of the situation that TSC is severely backlogged. The officer denied this and said CSC is at the same place as TSC and that I shouldn't believe everything I read on the internet.

Beach wedding?!

Omg they really know how to screw things up, when they want be bad they are really good at it. I'm glad that everything ended up well.

I said about Icelandair because my fiancé was listening one of his favorite podcasts and the guy said the best way to go to Germany was by Icelandair, good prices and you can stop in Iceland and stay there as long as you want and after that you can take a flight to your final destination without any fee. We thought that was awesome, sounds like a good vacation trip. 2 countries in a roll.

So far I had opportunity to travel with American Airlines and United, I didn't have problem with them but personal experience American was nicer.

AA doens't have nonstopn to Dulles, they stop at Miami. It isn't bad but nonstop is better.

Isn't a good idea? Like you can say goodbye to everyone at same time, spend a good time and ask for wedding gifts hahah.

It's a roller coaster of emotions, at same time I'm super excited and happy to start a life with my fiance I'm sad for leaving. Is like my heart will always be between both locations. I hope it doesn't take much more than 1 year to be able to visit.

I had an opportunity to stay there for 5 months back in 2013, it was my first and longest trip to there. I was luck to be there in one of the worst winter in years. At least now I'm prepare for all the winter that will come hahah. And he came to Brazil 2 times.

And you guys?

I've only been there in the winter and everyone is talking about how hot it is in the summer. But we could probably make it work if we did it before noon. We had initially thought more towards the afternoon and then go out doing mini golf in the evening. It's a thing we've been doing during our time dating: challenging each other to a round of mini golf and the loser would pay for ice cream or dinner :)

I love the positivity and enthusiasm of VJ members. It's really tough but we are helping each other go through this by sharing ideas and providing support.

Yeah, I love it too. Keeps my mind off the long wait when I can come hear and help others or gain help from others :)

And you guys?

We are getting married in the backyard of my fiance's house and his father will actually be the one marrying us :)

Yeah it was unbelievable an then he flew back to the states with SAS and guess what? No bag that time either... Arrived the next day thankfully.

Icelandair is a great option if you don't require food during your trip. Great service, cheap prices and a pretty decent selection of movies to watch during the flight which is a much for me. I hate flying and need to be distracted... And yeah their offer to stay there sounds great. Never done it but it would be nice to experience such an exciting country as Iceland. Always seems to have bad weather but very fascinating country.

I know what you mean, I am super excited and at the same time I feel kind of bad for leaving my family and friends. But it will be okay :) I hope we are lucky and it won't be a whole year. Though if it does turn out to be a year, we have definitely become experts in waiting by then and we'll be fine ;)

I went to the states as an Au Pair in 2011, met my fiance in 2012 just when I was about to start my second year as an Au Pair. Moved in with him and became a student of a community college in 2013. He proposed to me in March last year and then my visa ended in May. So I lived there for about 3 years.

Have you guys started planning your wedding?

Wow! That's really cool! I think yard wedding are so nice. I thought you guys would get married in VA that's why I said "nice weather out" but I guess just avoiding the sun would work great hahah. Maybe a sunset wedding with evening party would work. Lots of lights on yard, aww would be so cute ^_^

Well, food is always welcome I won't deny it. Only if it's the food they served on a flight from GRU to Dulles, that I would deny it. Everything after safety and blah blah blah it's a plus, flying is something that it's part of our lives and from now on always will be so, enjoying it would be nice. Icelandair made it so easy to visit Iceland that I guess it worth a try. It's like a "free ticket" to Iceland!

the good thing is everything gets better, it takes some time to ajust but after that it gets easier. When I was finally feeling 100% adjust there, it was time to come back. So, that's something that I'm aware of, it takes time. you know that better than me I guess.

So I think you're more than adjust living abroad.

We didn't start planning the wedding yet, zero, nothing. We just have some ideas, like, outside or inside. I would like a backyard too, but inside like in a hotel they do almost everything for you, just need show them the money. We also want to keep it small and simple. More informal than formal. We're just waiting noa2 to start the action. For being honest I'm clueless.

I we're about to discover how fast we can plan a wedding. Being k1 gives you a lot of skills!

Are you going to say yes to the dress?? hahah. Have you ever look to it?

Yeah we will see how it works out, all plans are currently put on ice but that's a very good idea! :)

Yeah airplane food isn't great but if you're flying for more than 6 hours it's always welcome though I've been pretty good at bringing my own stuff.

We were so sure we'd have our visa by now that when I visited in the fall we pretty much got 90% of the wedding done. So I have already said yes to the dress :) Went to David's Bridal which is pretty much everywhere in the states I think and found a really pretty dress :) It was super exciting to try out dresses! It suddenly made everything feel so real, that wow we're actually getting married. Amazing feeling!

Well looking at Igor's list and consider in how many have probably just made a timeline and bailed from the forum or have decided to withdraw their petition it looks like they should be wrapping up June sometime this month. So maybe if we're lucky at least early July people should start hearing something by the end of this month possibly February.

There have been some late July people being approved but those felt more like a coincidence then a pattern.

Approved!!! Omg I can't believe. I was just checking uscis website like every morning, I was waiting for "we received your case" when I read "case approved" I literally freaked out, I checked the case number lots of times to see if it's right. And it is!

So, no e-mail or text message.
