Question on calling NVC

Hello all!

My wife's application was approved by USCIS on Sept. 11th, it is now pass the 1 month mark and we still havent heard anything from NVC.

I wan't to call them to inquire about our case but I am not sure what kind of information they will need from me and what I will need from them beside case number?

Also, I keep seeing everyone talking about their progress with NVC like scan date, online form, and billing. I am not aware that NVC have a website that you can check case status, how do you check your status?

When you call NVC make sure that you have the uscis receipt number, petitioner's name, bday, email address, phone number and they will also ask the name of the beneficiary, bday.

Once you have your NVC case number you can check case status here, it never was very helpful for me but....

So, after spending an hour on the phone waiitng and 5 minutes speaking with a rep this is what he told me:

Our case number was assigned on Oct 8th, there was an invoice letter/package sent to my lawyer but not to me or my wife, also on the 8th.

I am both happy and mad at the same time, why hasnt my lawyer contact me? surely he would have recieve the package by now?
