My i130 was approved in 32 days . Jumping crying and screaming for joy

Very happy for those who get approved so quick but is a lil unfair how many people have to wait months to get approved.

We filed at the beginning of the month through the Chicago office. It took about a week but it was received and approved and is now on its way to the California office.

Congrats on the approval! :star: Thank goodness you live where there is reliable mail service. I hope the rest of your journey goes smoothly.

You're probably right DKNC, and even if it does take the regular 5 months, we'll still have time to go through NVC and be in the US by next school year. Our consulate should be rather fast and the last part is expected to go though easily. Crossing our fingers now!

Our son will be starting 1st grade next August and it would be the best if we could move during the summer, in order to get to know some kids in the area before school and stuff. Also, to get over the initial adjustment and shock... how old are your kids? Will you be moving to a location you're familiar with?

Wishing you good luck in selling the house! We sold ours a few years ago and the single most expensive thing to sell before moving will be the car. We'll see how that goes, when it's time...

Our kids are teenagers. Although they are older, they are at good breaking points in school come summer. Our plan is to move to a new location for the both of us. It is both exciting and stressful. With no family in the area, it will be critical for one of us to find a job prior to the move so we can afford housing. That could mean living apart near the end. :crying: How about you? Familiar location or new frontier?
