Hey everyone I am now filing AOS based on K1 visa(married now). My husband is PCS in Japan and try to get the commons sponsorship. My question is: Can I get AOS done oversea? Do I need to file out the papers in the STates now?

If you came to the states with a K-1 visa and got married you have to file AOS inside the country. You can't leave the country now until you have AP approved. If you leave the country your case will be denied as abandoned.

Sep - 26 - 2014- biometrics letter received!! Appointment for Oct 7

Sep - 30 - 2014 - succesful early walk in biometrics ??

Nov - 22 - 2014 - EAD/AP approved ?? ( 71 days )

Nov - 24 - 2014 - card in production

Dec - 1 - 2014 - card mailed ??

Dec - 3 - 2014 - Combo card received ??

Dec - 15 - 2014 - email received with interview date for Jan 15 2015! ??

IF he has his PCS amended to include you,

then yes, it is possible to handle AOS based on your residency at the base in Japan.

However - I suggest the AOS Packet be filed nowish, with all addresses to the base in Japan, and

he talk with the Military Hotline on his Monday for steps and process regarding the quickest way to get you into Japan.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
