Do I bring my sponsors to the interview?

Hellooo!

Well almost 4 months to the day we filed, we got our interview date set for November 13th! Yayyy!

We've got all of our paperwork together requested for the interview, extra photographs and receipts from dates and knick knacks.

Our question is (even though it wasn't stated) Do we have to bring our financial sponsors to the interview? Or is the documentation enough?

I just want to make sure we're prepared.

Also, my Canadian passport expired last month, I called the passport office and they said I can't get a new one unless I have government documentation of my new name (Drivers license, health card) but I can't get those without going in person with documentation, and I can't do that. So my thought was, I'll wait until I have documentation (my green card). I'm hoping I wont be refused if I have an expired passport at the interview?

I suppose that's it, I'll call USCIS but I thought I'd ask you lovely people first.

No sponsors at the interview, other than the primary sponsor (your spouse).

Thank you, I was wondering, because our sponsors are sort of the primary, as my husband didn't not meet the requirements for a year.

The primary sponsor is always the petitioner even if their income is $0.

If you can't renew your passport until you have something official then it probably won't be a problem.

How do you intend getting a visa without having a valid passport?

The day of the interview, the consulate expects that you have a valid passport for at least 6 months.

Am I mistaken in thinking that this couple are already in the U.S. and they are going for the two-year green card? So there are no visas to be issued here.

What about the option of renewing your passport in your maiden name, and then updating it with your married name at a later date?

A previous poster speculated that an expired passport shouldn't matter but I personally would feel uncomfortable going into that interview without a valid passport (it's always a good idea to renew it before it enters its last six months of validity since many countries require that much time left on your passport in order to let you in).

Your co-sponsors will not, I REPEAT, will not be able to attend the interview with you, you will only be allowed to bring your spouse. You must also have a passport valid for at least 6 more months with at at your interview. Good luck.
