Hey guys,

Hope all of you are doing well throughout this process. So, on Aug 16th 2014 I filed for my fiancee in Pakistan. Soon after (2 weeks or so) I got a text, email and a letter saying they have received my app and are sending it to California Vista Center. Yesterday I got another text and email stating that on Oct. 7th they have approved my application and have sent me a letter and to follow any instructions on that letter...

What does this mean? Isnt the approval process take ~5 months at the visa center? what are the next steps? (besides, of course, follow the instructions in the letter once i get it). Should I get excited? or is this normal time?

well she is several hours ahead of us, as the other posted stated. you will need to start getting thing ready for the next step, I-134 and supporting documents, proof of continuing relationship, Letter of continuing support of K1 visa process and intent to marry with 90 days, search all of this in the search block many threads on here to help.

you can go ahead do the DS-160 just DO NOT submit until you get the new case number from NVC, things will move more quickly, time to start reading the threads on what to do next
