Hi all,

My fiancee is coming from NL, Canada she will either do her medical in Toronto or Montreal before her VISA interview in MTL. can anyone tell me what she will need or what to expect for her medical ? she has lived in canada her entire life (1990) so she should have a pretty straight fwd magical/shot record.

Highly advise you two share the VJ account (or she creates 1 of her own)so she can particpate and ask questions directly ;)

Search 'Medical' in the Canadian forum and someone recently posted the list of Dr's available for Canadians and there are always lots of reviews regularly.

She should definitely start looking at her past vaccinations to ensure she is up to date and get any boosters needed from her family Dr before the actual medical. If she has any medical conditions that require extra explanation she should get documentation from her family doctor.

I went to Dr Lyndon Mascarenhas The medical was a breeze, just make sure she has all of her shots / boosters. If she's not sure if she's still immune she can request a titer test from her family doctor for free. She will need to take her vaccination records with her. When she gets there, she'll need to bring he MTL interview letter, photos (they only took one from me) and her passport. They'll ask her to fill in some documents, then they'll send her for blood work / x-rays (same building) after she's done she'll sit down with the doctor, pay him $300 and let him know if she has any serious health issues. It's very easy. After a few days, they will call her to pick up her results -> do not open this envelope.
