One thing for sure, Bill Maher has bold American balls.
In Six Minutes, an Atheist Tears Apart the Way Liberals Defend Muslim Atrocities ‘In the Name of Multiculturalism’
He took a picture of a teenager’s obscene act with a Jesus statue to make this point: ”Liberal Western culture is not just different — it’s better.”
Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” has been slamming Islam — and the liberal tendency to protest any criticism of Islamic culture — recently, and on Friday night he continued the assault.
“President Obama keeps on insisting that ISIS is not Islamic,” Maher noted, adding with a smirk, “Well, maybe they don’t practice the Muslim faith the same way he does.”

Of all the liberals here, who defends Muslim atrocities?

Name one, with a linked example.

Better yet, name a Muslim on here who defends ISIS atrocities.

He needs to name one, with a linked example as well.

he's a hypocrite. seems to me in the beginning he's speaking mostly to liberal christians, and it mostly made sense. but then he goes on about "atheists should be attacking religion"..what?

He was on point in keeping the separation of church and state. Then, he moved into how the liberals are far too tolerant of allowing religions, especially one in particular, that oppresses its people and gets all peed-off when disbelievers make fun of their god. Or for example when women do stuff like get an education, missing out on the exterior of the taco cutting ceremony, covering their face and hair, hiding out and letting the men aspire to the do as I say, not as I do top of the class. So, it's not about attacking the religion, but shining a light on the pagan behavior that oppresses its people, non (or dis, what have you) believers, The freedom to make a cartoon, or statue in the likeness Mary, Buddha, or Mohammed and take pictures of them blowing you shall not be infringed.

yeah, i watched it. and 'he said you're an atheist, you should be attacking religion'. if all religion disappeared, it would be a great thing. but that's not realistic. also not realistic: thinking a religion is something that can be destroyed.

Nah, he didn't say that at all. Again, what he did say what that there should be a clear separation of church and state, and that all religions should be free to practice and people should be allowed to openly criticize the church/religious organization WITHOUT THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE. Listen more carefully. I've marked the youtube video at critical points for you because I don't have a transcript of the content.

In the first link the following appears:

With regard to liberal ideology, Maher opines:
"Freedom to practice any religion or NO religion without the threat of violence."
In the second link:
With regard to atheists attacking religion, Maher sets up the following:
1. Muslim women and forced genital mutilation
2. He states that 98% of Somalian women have. Ayaan Hirsi Ali was one of them.
3. She was scheduled to speak at Yale last week, but the school's atheist organization, my people, complained that she did not represent the totality of the ex-Muslim experience. Meaning what? The women who like mutilation?
4. You're atheists! You should be attacking religion not siding with the people who hold women down and violate them, which apparantly you will defend in the name of multiculturalism and then lose your shiite with someone refers to Chaz Bono by the wrong pronoun.

so either maher believes that atheists should attack religlion - or just this one specific atheist group at yale should be attacking religion. which is it?

in the sense that i do not subscribe to any religion, i don't condone the horrible things people do in the name of religion. anyone who thinks that attacking or trying to wipe out a religion is going to be a successful venture is an idiot and sometimes, maher fits the idiot bill quite nicely.

What he said is perfectly clear to an unclouded mind. There is no need for me to use words different from what he used as the words he chose were perfect. It's understandable, clear, articulate, and for that reason makes sense. Two major points he made:

1. Liberals support freedom of religion as long as that religion do not threaten others with violence

2. Atheists should NOT be attacking a woman who had her genitals involuntarily mutilated in Somalia. Rather, the Atheists should attack aspects of religion that oppress others with threats or acts of violence.

It's clear that you don't like or agree with his message. But, trying to twist his words shows you are desperately trying to make his message different than what he intended.
