In L-status, (re)enter the US with a B1 visa

Hi all,

I entered the US in 2013 on a B1 visa to establish a subsidiary for my employer (find suitable office space, open bank accounts, etc.). This has all worked out great and the business is up and running.
I recently successfully changed my status from B1 to L1-A. I did not leave the US to change my status, it was processed all in the US.

Now I want to leave the US for a short break and visit the headquarters in Germany (to report all results to our management).
Can I re-enter the US with my B1 visa? This B1 visa has a validity of 10 years (max. stay of 6 months).
Or do I have to apply for the actual L1-A Visa in order to return to L1A status?

Thanks

If you want to continue being able to work under L1 status, you have to apply for a stamp at the Consulate. You cannot enter on a B1 if your intent is to work and live under L1.

A Visa is more than a stamp.
