Got our NOA2, what's next?

I received our NOA2 notification by text message on Friday. So our application is now on it's way to the consulate. What should we expect from here? I see that it takes 50-90 days to get an interview. What do we need to know/bring/do/anticipate next?

After NOA 2, it goes through NVC first before being mailed out to the embassy. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

It may take 2 - 5 weeks for NVC to process an approved I-129f, but you may try to start calling NVC after about 10 business days from NOA 2 to inquire for the MNL case number.

Once you get the MNL#, you can refer to Hank's guide for the next steps: http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

What you do is expect to be a little busy for the next three or four months, give or take. During this time you'll need to pay fees as they become available, fill out your Affidavit of Support form, get your other documentation together....follow that link sweet cakes gave for the steps.

You have your MNL# ? Then it is ROCK n ROLL time!!

Follow the flashing arrow below for details on the complete process. Now that interview dates are back to normal you could be done in less than 2 months.

You should have an MNL # in that NOA. If so then follow Hanks guide in the link they gave u above. After I recieved the notice, my fiance was able to do the DS 160 but we got delayed cuz she still didnt have her passport. Just wanted to let u know in case u dont have passport yet. It delayed a few weeks but shes here now as of 4 days ago. Good luck....the greatest thing i learned from the forum and Hanks guide is NOT to wait around for letters or replies from the embassy or NVC cuz they rarely come.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, she has her passport, CENOMAR, certificate of live birth, and her NBI report.

I'll start calling around Wednesday to give the application time to get to the NVC.

The BC must be from NSO

Did she live in any country other than the Philippines for more than 6 months after turning 16? If so she needs police clearance from that country. Some of these take some time to get, so if you need this start thinking of it now.

No, she has only lived in the Philippines.

And yes, she got her BC from the NSO.

I do have another question. Do I need to be present for the interview?

Not necessarily, but it would definitely be a good idea. USC petitioners are allowed to enter the US embassy in Manila. It just depends on the CO's discretion if he/she wants you to be present during the interview itself.

No you do not need to be present at the interview, and not being there will not have a negative impact on visa approval.

Follow the embassy instructions letter for all requirements for the visa application process.

I received a message that the visa has been sent to the Department of State. Is that the same as it being sent to the NVC?

NVC is part of the Department of State.

In the next couple weeks you should be able to get your MNL # by calling, then later the later from NVC will arrive.
