need some advice

Hi everybody.

My name is Samra and I filed for the K1 visa back in June 2014. June 16th to be exact was when I sent my paper work in and I recevied my receipt on June 22. My fiance is in Bosnia which is in eastern europe. My main concern is why is it taking so long? They don't update their site often so I don't even know what case is being processed at this time. Can any of you give me a time frame of when I should expect a decision? Thanks for all the help in advance.

If you fill out your timeline, you'll be given an estimated time for the NOA2, based on the data of other VJ users. Again, it's an estimate: no one can tell you for sure because every case is different.

3 months is average time for i-129f adjudication as of now. Take a look at the Immigration Timelines on top of the page. Some take much shorter, some take much longer.

Good luck.

I checked the self-reported VJ timeline data for those submitting their petitions in June 2014 and processed at Texas. Only two from Bosnia-Herzegovina (neither have received their NOA2), presumably one entry is you.

Expanding the search to all countries for June 2014 petitions and only 30 out of 160 have received NOA2s (19%). Over the last six months, Texas-processed petitions have averaged 5 months or more for the NOA2. So I would wait another two months before I start worrying that there is a problem with your particular petition. In the meantime, while you wait, focus on other things in your life. I know it's hard. We've all been there and know how frustrating it is, but at this stage, there's nothing you can do until they make a decision or you are over the standard processing time of 5-6 months.

You have waited so far only 3 months. The average USCIS processing time is 6 months, so this is not taking any longer than normal.
