I'm Canadian and my Husband is American, we have submitted all documents to NVC for review, if all goes well and they approve, how soon do they usually schedule the interview? Mine will be in Montreal, Canada.

Also, It says in a forum on here you must bring all original documents to the interview, but I sent all my original documents to NVC?

What is the proper step for this?>

That depends on if you are IR-1/CR-1 or a K-1 visa.

I would take a look at some of the Canadian's timelines who are going throough the same VISA process as you (people's post signatures are also helpful. As long as you are Canadian born and not a native of yet another country, your timelines will be similar.

A email/letter should be sent that has a list of items that you will need to bring. Beside them there are letters to correspond to whether you will need an original or a copy. Once my case was approved, I received a interview date in less then two weeks.

I filed electronically so my originals were never sent only a scanned PDF of the documents.

That depends on if you are IR-1/CR-1 or a K-1 visa.

I am a CR-1, would it be a big deal if I didn't have certain photocopies? They have all originals.

Interviews are being scheduled about a week after case complete. The Montreal consulate has about a 6 week wait for interviews. So you're looking at interview date about 7 weeks after CC.

Aprox. 7 weeks after your case is completed you should be interviewing. (1 week for NVC to get interview scheduled and then a 6 weeks wait for appointment)

If you get a CC between the middle and the end of a month, you would get the interview date at the beginning of the next month for the month after.

Clear as mud?

Example: CC Sept 16, interview date recieved first week of Oct, interview early in Dec. CC end of Sept, interview date received first week of Oct, interview mid-late Dec. CC Early Oct, interview date received asap, interview late Dec

Does that make more sense? They book the interviews normally the first two weeks of a month for the month after.
