Please help! I called the NVC. They gave me my case number and informed me our case was sent to the embassy in Vancouver. I've e-mailed them to see if they have received it but have not heard back yet.

When I checked the visa status on the CEAC website, it says that my case is ready to have an interview scheduled at the consulate in Montreal!

#######!? I have not received any post from anyone since the NOA2.

Why would they send my information to Vancouver and then the CEAC website says I need to schedule an interview in Montreal? I don't even know if I should fill out the DS160 right now or wait until someone tells me to do so. Please help my mind is going crazy! I've heard that it takes months to get an interview in Montreal, and I'm in Alberta!

Okay, when I called NVC to find out about my case and enter the number in the CEAC it said "in transit: which meant it has not reached the embassy. If yours said "Ready" it means the embassy received it.

See the link below for the steps at your embassy:

Good luck!!

Oh I forgot to mentioned, once the CEAC website says "Ready" and your case has been received by the embassy you could send the embassy an email requesting an electronic version of the interview letter and list of documents needed for the interview. In my case it worked when I emailed the US embassy in Peru. It help a lot having it ahead of time so that I could schedule the medical exam (which I needed the interview letter) and obtain police records needed for the interview. You don't loose anything by trying. Here is the link of the US embassy in Montreal and email info:

Thank you for your reply, but you didn't really answer my question. I have a Vancouver case ID and the NVC told me it was sent to Vancouver but CEAC says it's ready in Montreal.

Hi This happened to me too. Apparently they just have the one letter for Canada and they don't change it for those that go through Vancouver! Does your case number start VAC? That means they should have sent it to Vancouver. It took a little over a week for Vancouver to get my package and I emailed them to be sure and they did receive it.

Most likely that is what happened here too. If they actually screwed up and you get your packet 3 from Montreal, I think you can contact them and have the case transferred to Vancouver.

Hope this helps. You should be fine!

Thank you so much for posting your experience with this. I feel much better now. And yes my case number starts with VAC

No problem. It freaked me out too! And you can start gathering your documents any time now. The packet 3 from Vancouver just tells you to go download it from the website. :content:
