Prepared to eat your words tomorrow, Mr. President?

Bush's most ghastly act of hubris was his "Mission Accomplished" Photo Op after his historical war crime of overthrowing Iraq's government based upon lies:

So let's get this straight: I despised the boy president, the loafer in chief. God what a disgrace. But here's Obama's words coming back to haunt him on Iraq:

Nor does he seem likely to describe Iraq as “sovereign, stable and self-reliant” with a “representative government.” And presumably he will not assert after more than a decade of conflict that “the tide of war is receding.”

Iraq is a basket case, and was when he uttered these typically self-serving words. Patronizing words. We destroyed their country. And we aren't done killing yet.

It is a dead heat between people like Boehner - who, as Speaker of the House, presumably knows what an 8th grader should know about their form of government: that it is congress who declares war, not the president. Demanding the president do more than the appx. 150 airstrikes the President has already made. As if it was doing nothing,

They all make me ill. The only thing I can trust about them is that they are going to lie. Democrats and Republicans alike. Get out of Iraq. Get out of the middle east. Just. Get. Out.

Update: Who are the Republicans Channeling for counsel? ####### Cheney!

Behind closed doors, of course:

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/09/#######-cheney-republicans-military-isis

Can it get any more crazy? There is no insider with greater personal involvement in lying us into war! If he had been from some other country the USA would be demanding his trial at the Hague.

If you read that, they're all for surging back worldwide - as if the last ten years didn't even happen, let alone Vietnam.

####### Cheney, lying in 2002:

Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction.

Cheney would "leak" fabricated Office of Special Plans "intelligence", then go on the talk shows to confirm the "anonymous intelligence leak".

Well, it will be interesting reading the president's script tomorrow. For the lies. I can't stand to watch him. Reading is bad enough.

We already know the result of tomorrow's announcement because Obama met with congressional leaders today.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2014/09/09/obama-islamic-state-speech-iraq-syria-white-house/15325533/

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, one of four congressional leaders who met with Obama, expressed support for some of the president's options, "such as increasing the effectiveness of the Iraqi Security Forces and training and equipping the Syrian opposition

Democrats and Republicans alike right there, in terms of leaders, agreeing to more of the same poison as the antidote. We have not left Iraq. We have widened our war from Iraq to Syria, and to Libya and to other places too. The president is going to be coy about exactly who his ground forces are, and in Syria this is glossed over by the soothing term "moderates". Yeah - give our money and weapons to "moderates". I always support moderates when we are fomenting war.

Speaking of eating his own words, here is Obama on Libya - as he was announcing bombing on behalf of the Al-Qaeda crazies in Benghazi:

That's why we’re going after al Qaeda wherever they seek a foothold.

Who is in charge of the place now, Mr. President? The Al Qaeda people you fought for. While you were saying that you are going after Al Qaeda. Who is in charge now in huge swaths of Iraq and Syria? Worse than Al Qaeda.

In a way, Libya has gone a lot better for Obama. He got the place into the hands of Al Qaeda in three years. It took Bush's war over a decade.

Go get'm Big O! Show'm ya got the goods!

lol. That's perfect! You just watch the hubris today. Here is his response to New Yorker editor David Remnick pointing out ISIS had already captured Falluja an portions of Syria - whereas Obama said in his 2012 re-election campaign speech how they had been DECIMATED:

“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,” Obama told Remnick. “I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian.”

So what's it gonna be today, champ? A speech about what a mortal threat they are to the USA. :dancing:

Today they are nothing, tomorrow they're Hitler, day before they were our war ally and tomorrow our war ally again. Welcome to Bizarro World of US foreign policy. Democratic and Republican leadership alike are no different. You are just so dumb - an isolationist - if you don't understand how important it is to switch between enemy and ally, wars having been won, and wars that need to start up big time again. 150 airstrikes is not war. That's diplomacy. War is where you really do something meaningful. A million refugees without food and water - that's accomplishing things.

He's really going to do it. Years more of war, and by law of mission creep already underway - this is just the beginning. Our major ally has not even formed their government yet in Iraq and the last one was ranked one of the most corrupt governments on earth. A form we forced on them, and one in which they were not allowed to see the names of the candidates who were running as we passed off the dictatorship under Bremner to Iraq. Read that twice, because it is exactly what we did to them. Secret ballot - where the candidates are secret, not the voters. We told them that if people knew who the candidates were, it was too dangerous. These are the smartest people in the room, and if you are against Empire Americana where we team up with or form the most corrupt governments on earth - you are a stupid terrorist sympathizer.

http://www.transparency.org/cpi2013/results

Afghanistan is the most corrupt country on earth. Ahead of North Korea, even. These are our war allies. We have been training their army too, and they will melt away just like Iraq's army did and leave the arms in the hands of the very people we were fighting on the day we leave. Just like every other invader of Afghanistan.

I'm a libertarian, which is unattainable as a practical matter, but I would much rather it not be spent on overseas wars. Social programs do not create deadly enemies and the most important thing is education, which we are failing at miserably.

Finland has a good approach, which is why they are the top. They pay a lot for the best teachers, so they can restrict applicants to the brightest technical people in the country. To teaching. But that takes resources. The first gulf war is in the trillions of dollars now and the wars altogether will not far from now be over ten trillion. It is inconceivably stupid, what we are doing. War instead of education.

Way to go America!
