honestly it had not come up yet, last time i was in trouble was 15 years ago, my fault for not informing her, i understand that. i just want a denial or an issue, so i can do whats necessary, if the uscis already approved me based on my record, why now does it become an issue with this one consular, Hank I always value your opinion, do you think they will give us the visa or not? and what do i do next?....thank you

My guess is that USCIS did their background check and there was info (something more than a traffic ticket) in the file when it reached Manila, when they asked your fiancee about it and she didn't know it raised a red flag, this gave the embassy concern and it is possible they requested more info ... which will take time to receive. That is my guess... reality is I don't have a clue.

I know of another couple that sat in AP for years, serious. There was a serious issue with the petitioner, and they just let me know they were finally approved and the visa issued.. years... yikes!

Well, still in AP, but case was touched yesterday.

(Today here, the 13th, yesterday there).
FWIW, around the same time as the touch on the 12th. 2PM Manila time.

right after you have any communication with them, the status date changes, dosnt mean they are doing anything. there is nothing you can do, i now know this. im at a loss, i dont know what to do. i spent 4 grand to go back to manila, to the embassy, with no results. nothing helps.

Fortunately, I've not been e-mailing them, or calling them recently. So I *ASSUME* my updates mean something. We'll see I guess.

I am not sure if it's the same for IV applicants but I was told by an examiner at usem that they have 3 mail rooms that sort and examine the docs before it reaches the right person/dept.

And I seriously believe that 80% of the people you get to speak with when you call their hotlines are either rushing to end the call or are bored with their jobs. I get stressed when I have to call them for any reason because I never know if the person I get to speak with will be able to answer my questions.

Senna, I believe that! I had my congressman's "immigration liaison" contact them, and, this is what she had to say:

They received some documentation on 8/12/14 and began reviewing it yesterday, 8/13/14. Due to the volume of cases the embassy handles, it can sometimes take around 30 days for them to review documentation and make a final decision. The embassy could not give me an exact timeframe for when they will complete action on your fiancée's application but I would say that it would be appropriate to give them another couple of weeks to review the information.

They RECEIVED the package on 07/25. So, all those previous touches, were just handling to get it to the right person. (Who, presumably has it now). We'll see.

*sigh* The 221g that the fiance received on March 26th asked for something specific. (It took a while to obtain it, due to slow moving government bureaucracy.) As I stated above, they received it on July 25th (so sayeth 2Go), and it took them 21 days to route it to the right person. That person received it, and 3 days later proclaimed that the exact form that they requested was indeed provided, but they need ANOTHER form to go with it. I scanned, and e-mailed this to the fiance last night, and she ran down to the local 2Go to send it to them. So, here we go again. Hopefully the mailroom(s) don't wait *3 farking weeks* to get it to the right person this time.
