I really need a very good advice from you all. It's all about our Co sponsor When we were submitting affidavit of support document to the NVC, we sent 2012 tax evidence which include w2 and 1040 of our co sponsor because i didn't make enough to sponsor my husband but on our interview letter it says we should bring the current tax. I contacted our co sponsor but couldn't reach her, so i talked to her mom and i realized that my co sponsor have traveled on a holiday outside the country and the problem is that am not sure if she will be back before the interview or not. So i have told a friend of mine with her husband who happens to be a Nigerian too as my husband, the both of them filed tax together and their household is 4 ( my friend, her husband and two grown up children 16 and 18 years respectively who have started working this year ) they are ready to be our Sponsor and their joint 2013 tax is 41,000 dollars.They are from Georgia but unfortunately the husband has a green card and not a citizen yet but the wife is an American. do you think he is eligible to fill the I 864 for us? because he would like to know if he is eligible so that he can be our sponsor. Also when we get to the embassy, wont it affect our interview because we have another sponsor which is different from the one we submitted before? also does he have to fill i864 and his wife fill another i 864 or both of them we fill only one i 864 ? please your reply will be highly appreciated

Thanks

Your co-sponsor with have o fill out a I-864 and his wife the I-864A both have to have W2, Employment letters and most recent Pay-stub and last 3 years tax transcripts or tax forms.

It's The Affidavit of Support Stage all over.

Yes it may delay you depends on if the CO wants to check it out or just accept and move on.

Yes an LPR can be a co-sponsor, maybe. How long has he been in US (I hope at least 3 years to show taxes and all)? Because it may not be enough time in US to qualify. Can't the wife be the co-sponsor instead or does she not make enough on her own?

The petitioner (You) would file an I-864, the main joint sponsor (who ever makes the most) would file an I-864 as well, and then the joint sponsor's spouse would file an I-864A. They need to make together $34,887 which they do.

The family size will now be 5 so you are good there.

@Dwheels

Thank you so much, his wife will be our Co sponsor since she makes enough on her own and can show three years of tax returns because her husband does not have three years of tax returns but her husband will now file I 864 A. thanks once again
