Anyone other Atlantans recently been placed in the oath scheduling "que"? We got a letter last Monday 8/4 that my husband is in the queue for oath scheduling. We are about to go insane for this process to be over. We hope he might get into a ceremony during my parents visit around Labor Day (in 3 weeks).

Please post your recent experience with oaths in this office. We aren't doing any name change or anything like that. It's now been over 13 months since we applied!

Here's another poor guy in Atlanta... he posted recently that he's been waiting for over a year:

I'm sorry this is happening to you guys. Have any of you tried to request (demand) a stand-alone oath? Essentially, a competent staff member of your local field office, at your written (and insistent!) request, prints off your naturalisation certificate, has the district director for your local office sign it, administers the oath, and updates USCIS with your citizenship status.

It's a common myth that attendance at a formal naturalisation oath ceremony is a requisite to complete the naturalisation process. The oath can be, and has been, administered in a variety of ways including hospitals, homes, agents' offices or a friendly judge's chamber.

I don't want your suffering! I don't want your future!
I have neither legal training nor immigration expertise; all comments posted must therefore be consumed in that vein.
