Which way should I pay?

So my husband and I are about to file for his AOS on Tuesday. A few questions first. First of all I've been told personal check is the best way to pay however I only have my old checks with my maiden name on. I would have changed my last name with my bank already but they advised me not to until my work changes my last name which the processing time for that takes a while. They said to do this to avoid problems with my direct deposit. Last name on both accounts must be the same.

So I considered a Cashiers check but read people advising against it?

My question is can I send a check with my maiden name? By the way my bank says I need to still sign with my maiden name as well.

I used a personal check with my maiden name on it & signed it with my maiden name and had zero problems. You should use a check since it allows you to track when they cashed it, just sign the check with your maiden name & you'll be fine, Good luck.

Your grandma could write the check. It doesn't matter. Contractors open the mail and process the checks. Real USCIS employees who have a say over approval of your case do not see the check or money order if your worry is they we question your marriage.
