I got a RFE for the I-485 I filed for my wife in May. The RFE says my household do not meet the 125% of poverty guideline. When I initially filling out my i-864, our 2013 household income (me+my parents) was well above 125% guideline for a 4-person household. However, I was unemployed in 2014 (and I put unemployed as my current work status ). Can this be the cause of complication to my i-485?

Anyhow, right now we are suppose to submit evidence of ownership. I don't have much money in my bank account. Can I use my parents's bank account statements? also, we have the title of several vehicles and the condo we currently live in. Are these considered evidence of ownership? Can we just make photocopies of the titles and send them in? or we must get appraisal to prove their monetary worth??

Thanks for the help! I'm really confused!

did you file 2 i864A's

because that is wrong, there can only be one i864A

you file the i864 as sponsor, your father files an i864 as joint sponsor and your mom is your dad's household member, filing an i864A

unfortunately you don't qualify because you aren't working, you are currently unemployed, so you have to find a joint sponsor that can cover your wife, or 2 joint sponsors, or 1 joint sponsor and 1 household member

and you cannot add your income with a joint sponsor

Oh no. Can I file the updated i-864s & i-864a along with the RFE? Maybe with a cover letter to explain the situation? So the new requirement would be a total of two 125% guideline of size 2 family member households ($19662*2)? Suppose I do not make over 125% of the guideline. Does that mean my parents (as joint sponsor) will have to make over $39324 or prove they have the ownership of property that worth more than 3x the difference?

hi

no, they don't need to include you unless your a dependent on their taxes

you have a household of 2, they have a household of 3

mom, dad and your wife

I suppose you can resubmit everything, I'm not sure, but anyway you have to send everything correctly this time
