Hi all,

I am in the CR1 immigration process and today I just received an email from NVC got my case number, I filed my application in China :)

As the email instructed I will need to complete the DS-260 form on this site, https://ceac.state.gov/IV

Ok I need to enter my Case Number (which i just got today) and my birth date to sign in on this page

But you know what, when I tried to log in, the below text pop out:

The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the National Visa Center for further assistance.

Can anyone explain to me whats going on? Is my case number wrong? Or as some people said I gotta wait for a few days to come through?

Thank you!

Make sure that you entered the case number correctly and make sure you entered your dob in the exact format they are asking. If you still have issues you may have to call the NVC to see if they have your correct dob.

This does not constitute legal advice.

Yes exactly the same format, I thought they do have my correct dob, because my birtiday was right in the email they sent over today, is it possible that they made a mistake on my birthday or case number caused that problem?

I'll posit that NVC ain't ready for you yet. Maybe you are a DCF case?

If the I-130 was filed in China (BeiJing or Guangzhou USCIS offices) via DCF (Direct Consular Filing) then I suggest you wait a bit, set up an account over at ustraveldocs.com/cn , pay the IV Fee Bill per the instructions there (usually pay at CITIC Bank, getting a receipt) , note the receipt in your ustraveldocs account, then wait 1 to 2 days, and try to fill out the online DS-260 again.

To the best of my knowledge, a DS-260 isn't 'doable' until after the IV Fee Bill has been paid and the payment noted.

If you are not a DCF case - what's the status on filing the DS-261 and the petitioner paying the AOS fee bill ?

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I am not sure what do you mean by DCF, i filed it in Beijing, and originally i was applying for CR1 but in the email they converted it to IR1, so i am wondering is this caused the case number wrong or something?

ok - so you filed it in the USCIS office in BeiJing. That's Direct Consular Filing. NVC not involved with your casefile.

follow what I wrote about paying the IV Fee at CITIC Bank, setting up a ustraveldocs.com/cn account.

The ability to fill out a DS-260 online is directly tied to the payment status.

Thanks, but my IIN and my DOB both are not working with my case, have to contact with guangzhou consulate to fix it.
