Hubby called the NVC today and the case is still not complete. They got the last checklist docs over 1 month ago but it is still processing. Agent recommending asking for an expedite because we are coming up on 15 months and stating the reasons why we believe we should be expedited at the NVC and the embassy. She said if successful we may catch August interviews.

Does this make sense or does it slow up the process more? Thanks in advance.

This makes clear sense. It does not seem to slow the process down once you've paid your applicable fees and submitted all required documents. I would request an expedite. And do not give up until they say "accepted for expeditious processing". It took me 5 attempts until I was successful.

Thanks...just send off the email The tier 2 supervisor remembered my hubby from their last conversation 1 month ago when he was upset about the 2 month delay about the DS 261 form. She recommended the expedite for NVC and to try for embassy too. She did note that Jamaica was seriously backlogged and a difficult embassy for processing. Fingers and toes crossed. Really want to spend the 2nd anniversary in the states if only for the symbolic nature of moving on with our lives.

We submitted the letter for expedite yesterday and today got an email that they are waiting on a response to the check list they requested. We responded and even the supervisor who hubby spoke to yesterday says they received it on June 2nd and all our documents are fine . Why are these people messing with out lives. Had we not requested an expedite they would not have responded to us?

WTH do we do now when their own system says they received the updated document. Frustrated beyond belief

They would have responded to you, but within a couple months later. Some embassies such as Jamaica and Egypt are SEVERELY backlogged and understaffed. The wait for Egypt after a case closed notification is 7-12 months. Other embassies such as the Philippines are being scheduled within 2-8 weeks.

Just be persistent and everything will work out okay :)

We were told today that the documents are all in order and the case forwarded to embassy so I am waiting on the hard copy confirmation. I have gotten jaded when told anything by the NVC. If the info is true it means the case expedite actually worked in our favour and was actually a good idea as it took one week from the expedite request to a favorable response from the NVC.

I was told today that my NVC expedite has been approved. The file is already on its way to Belgium. I wonder how quickly the interview will be scheduled.I have only paid the AOS fee and NVC told me not to send them any paperwork..that it has to be taken to the interview. I am so excited because I cant believe the expedite was actually approved!

Great on the expedite. Have you gotten anything in writing yet from the NVC? Has your case status changes on the ceac website?

Yes, the NVC sent me an approval email. I called them and they confirmed it had been approved and the file is on its way to Belgium. The DS-260 has been unlocked and I completed it last night. The status on the CEAC site says *in transit*.

It changes to "In-Transit" and then to "Ready". I was expedited this week and have an interview for July 27. I feel so fortunate and I pray everything will go well.

Congrats on your expedite! Did the embassy email you the interview letter or do they call the beneficiary? I provided his phone number in an email to the NVC. I also feel fortunate that my case was approved too and I'm glad the embassy was open minded and expedited.

They mailed me the expedite approval to my physical address and they emailed the beneficiary informing her to schedule a medical and an interview date.
