I've seen that a lot of the forms for the initial adjustment of status ask for the applicant's alien registration number, and my fiancé and I aren't sure what his is. As far as we can tell it's not printed on his visa. I'm aware that it may have been printed on the NOA2, but we believe the NOA2 was lost in the mail because we never received it. So we're unsure of what it is or if he even has one. I tried calling the USCIS and they couldn't help. Should we just leave that question on the forms blank? Will that hurt us?

For your missing NOA2, you would want to read this thread:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/323385-filing-for-aos-with-lost-noa2/

Thanks, I have read that a few times before now to reassure myself it'll be ok to submit AOS without the NOA2! I'm just curious what to do about the alien registration number since we have no idea what that is...

There's a number under "annotation" that starts with A, would that be it? I believe it's ten digits, but I don't have the visa in front of me to look. I just did a little research and thought anything under "annotation" meant something else. There's another number in red that starts with H on the right side.

I just realized I have copies of my wife's visa and her alien number. I was incorrect earlier, the alien number was nowhere to be found on her visa.

Yeah, there's definitely nothing marked "A#" on the visa or anything. I guess we'll just have to put "unknown" on the forms and hope for the best?

1 last try again. K1 visa issued by London Post:

You still can see the AXXXXXXXXX (blanked out vaguely) under Annotation:

Thanks very much for your help! And you're sure that A number annotation is the alien number?
