I heard about people who did that and got in anyway. I would not recommend that though.

Is he the USC and you are the one who needs the medical? There is little value in waiting for him to arrive because he will not be admitted into St. Luke's to accompany you. So consider going there early morning and meeting up with him later that day. He can go there when you are almost done and meet you at the front door, probably about 2 PM. You are permitted to bring your cell phone inside so you can stay in touch with him.

OK I got it. The OP will not be there early either.

To the OP: You have nothing to lose by trying on the day of your arrival. You will probably get it done, and the worst possible result is you will be told to come back the next day. So give it a shot.

You are right that they will not complete it during your period. They will do everything except the urine test and the physical exam. Still you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying.

I went there between 9-10am on a Tuesday, no issues.

Worked to my advantage because there were only a few people doing the medical. I guess most did it early in the morning.

Funny you mentioned that, my fiancee is going there on Thursday as well for her medical... I told her to go there really early in the morning so that she can hopefully finish on the same day and we're praying she doesn't get the dreaded sputum test... she initially wanted her mom and sister to accompany her there but I don't think they allow anyone other than the person with the appointment to wait with her.

Good luck!

Correct that nobody else is allowed into the building with her. However, they can wait with her outside the building until she is called in. For Candy, I arranged for a male relative to wait with her outside the building, both for company and for security since it is early in the morning and still dark outside.

Thursday is a good day to get there since children can only go Monday to Wednesday, resulting in shorter lines. And while it is not guaranteed, it makes it more likely you will get it done in one day.

Thursdays are awesome. Someone I asked from SLEC actually told me to just start my medical after lunch because the lines are waaaay shorter and you'll be done with the tests faster. But you'll have to go back the following day for the results. If you early like 5-6am you might get your results in the afternoon.

I read on the US Em Mnl website that the medical should be done 1 week before the interview. Anyone have experience with the timing of the medical?

Also, will SLEC do the exam if you don't have an interview appt yet?

I saw an online appointment scheduler for the med exam. Has anyone tried this?

The embassy instructions letter states - AT LEAST a week before the interview. The embassy wants to allow time for the medical file to reach your case file... so do the medical at least a week (or more) before the interview

n. MEDICAL EXAMINATION. All K1 and K2 visa applicants must complete a medical examination at St.
Luke’s Extension Clinic at least a week before the interview appointment. Refer to the instructions (see
separate page) regarding the medical examination.

Some have gone two months before the interview date without problem. Like Hank says, one week is the recommended minimum. You can go longer. Just know that the six month clock to get on the plane to USA starts ticking on the day of your medical, not the day of your interview.
