APPROVED! Fantastic interview, really really nice guy, spent a lot of time chatting about English TV shows, video games, movies.. Great stuff!

E-mail from USCIS this morning :

Card/ Document Production

On October 7, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

I had that with the social security office just after receiving my EAD... "not updated in the system yet" type of excuse.

Congrats!! :)

Seems like the process was quick for all of us! Yay!

Written sworn affidavits from the people who you are living with should do the trick, I would have thought?

Maybe try and get a cell phone plan registered at the address with both your names on it, too.

It's an understandable situation to be in, though, so I don't think it will count against you too badly as long as you can explain it properly and show some sort of evidence (like affidavits)

The only thing we have is our joint bank account that has my parents address and also shows the month payments we do to the storage unit where we've had our things, plus the Internet bill that I is under my name because I help them pay for it. Luckily I also have the lease contract from our old place in DE and the moving contract from the movers who brought our things from across country.

Hopefully those things are enough.

I got green card, also got EAD before green card. So now I have both, do i need to send EAD back?

I read a case that IO asked someone to send EAD back if they got green card. So...Here is my question. Should I?

No you do not need to send it back. Some IOs just ask for the EADs back during the interview if they are going to approve the application. But since you are done with the interview and already have the green card in hand, you can just keep your EAD as a souvenir :)

Any news in your case?

Hey Tormentis,

Nothing yet.. The paper said it might take up to 120 days. The officer told us that it should be faster than that but refrain from inquiring about the case until 120 days have passed. She also said that the card will be conditional and I would have to go through removal of conditions 3 months before expiration. I should save any kind of financial documents or any joint paperwork/tickets/travel/pictures from now on to submit with ROC.

Her exact words were: I can't give you a decision right now as others need to review your case and I need to look in the system so we're clear.

Not sure what looking in the system means - but we'll see what comes out if all that. :)
