Hey Everyone

This is my first post :)

I have a quick question. I'm the alien and I'm from the UK. I currently live in Sydney, but will be leaving in 3 weeks time. I will arrive back in the UK in September. For my letter of intent should I put my Sydney address on it as it's where I currently live. Or should I put my UK address as its where I want all of my mail sent and where I want to have my interview.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi there! Welcome to the forum! :)

You don't need to put your address when you write your Letter of Intent to marry. There's a Letter of Intent template in VJ Example forms that you can follow: http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples

I don't think you need an address on the letter of intent? Mine did not have one.

I think it is relatively easy to change your address in the process though. I have not done this, but will need to as my Fiance is moving in October. You will need it on the application. Depending how long it takes to get that package ready, might be easier to just wait until that address is your official address. It took us a while to get all the forms done and make sure it was correct before filing.

USCIS has info on change of address and I believe it is an online form.

Good luck!

Addresses on the letters of intent are simply a formality of letter writing and not a requirement. The instructions do not even ask for a letter, just a statement.

These samples work perfectly >

To Whom It May Concern,

I, (USC petitioner’s name), do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry (foreign fiance(e)’s name), and intend to so within 90 days of (his/her) entrance into the US by way of a K-1 visa.
