My wife is studying to take the naturalization exam. I have a question about the civics portion:

If a question has more than one answer, but doesn't specify how many answers to recall, must she provide ALL of the answers? For example:

What is the economic system in the United States?

* capitalist economy

* market economy

Will she get away with providing only one of the two answers above? For the question above, she only memorized "market economy". Also:

What is an amendment?

* a change (to the Constitution)

* an addition (to the Constitution)

She only memorized "a change".

Thank you!!

For the questions you posted there is only one correct answer. Don't be fooled by political input.

Even though the current president is trying to change it, the US is currently a Capitalist economy.

As for the second question take a moment and look up the definition of the root word amend. To change something that already exists means to amend it. If you add something to it, that is an addition and not an amendment.

So, the answer to the second point is: An amendment is a "CHANGE" to the US Constitution.
a·mend [uh-mend]
verb (used with object)
1. to alter, modify, rephrase, or add to or subtract from (a motion, bill, constitution, etc.) by formal procedure: Congress may amend the proposed tax bill.
2. to change for the better; improve: to amend one's ways. Synonyms: ameliorate, better. Antonyms: worsen.
3. to remove or correct faults in; rectify.
verb (used without object)
4. to grow or become better by reforming oneself: He amends day by day. Synonyms: improve, ameliorate. Antonyms: worsen.
Origin:
1175–1225; Middle English amenden < Old French amender < Latin ēmendāre to correct, equivalent to ē- e-1 + mend ( a ) blemish + -āre infinitive suffix

hi

all of the answers on the test are correct, she can pick one or study both of them or more than one, but she will only have to give one answer unless the question asks for more

For me, just in case, I studied 2 options and when asked only replied with one of the two

every person studies differently, what makes her comfortable will do, just as long as she knows the 100 questions
