Smart/Sun Data Service unbelievable poor!

Okay. Here’s what aggravates me to the point of tearing off my Smart sim card.

Yes, as my subject says, it’s their data signal coverage. Even turning on my roaming signal, still I will have 0 kbps download speed. It’ll take me than an hour to roam around to get the perfect signal for me to just get in touch with my email.

No, I am talking about Smart. Anyway, i've got answers to this incredibly annoying PLDT service.

Not only me got the same problem. Now, I don't have to dwell too much on this as i will definitely be filing a complaint my unacceptable data service from PLDT/Smart.

It all depends on where you're at. Makes a difference as to the time of day, as well as many other factors.

Sitting here at home, there are times that the service is awesome, at 3-4am. Then times the signal drops out and I can't do the most basic of tasks. Too many people, not enough towers for coverage,or overloaded. Add in the issues with old outdated equipment, and finding qualified technicians, well I think you get the point.

The entire telecomunnication system here has issues. Its improving, but its still got a long way to go.

You must be a USC and expecting everything to be just like at home. Man, this is the Philippines, a third world country trying to make strides to improve. Nothing is ever perfect. I don't know why you don't see that.

What I love is how smart will steal your load. Every single time I sent load to a smart phone, php would disappear within 24hrs. Too bad da senator got busted himself.

My wife was always buying loads for her phone and one day I asked what happened to the load she just bought and she said it's gone. Further, she stated that it just disappears into thin air. She even tried an experiment and bought a load and turned off her phone. 24 hours later she turns her phone back on and the load is gone. It would take everything someone had to hold me back from becoming unglued if that every happened to me. That is down and out thievery and it's not just one company but they all do it. The sad thing is no one in the government does anything about it.

Need to outright disable mobile data on Smart. A lot of the apps for quick settings just change your APN to something invalid, but smart ignores APN settings totally (they changed this a couple years ago to reduce customer support needs).

Alternately subscribe to one of the usage based promos (instead of the default time-based billing) and this won't happen either.

Understood. Already went down that road. Tried it, still the load disappears. Our test was a basic Nokia phone (the 800php type) that has no Internet capabilities. Same as greenbaum, we shut it off for 24hrs. Same lost load result. Heck, it even happens when I send the load. Send 500, 495-498php is received. Then, you have to add load in increments that leave load leftover after a service has been purchased. For example, 495 received, added 50 more to access Unli500. Within a week, the extra load is gone.

Explain that, sensei.
