Hi everyone,

Congrats to all who got their interview. I expect to get mine next month. I am trying to figure out plans. I know that the medical office says 3 business days to pick up the results. So hypothetically does that mean a Monday medical can pick it up results on Thursday or Friday? I am just trying to save as much as I can because I am not one of the fortunate ones who live near Montreal or Vancouver and have to spend the week in Montreal. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I had my medical on a Tuesday and they told me to call on Friday to make sure that everything was good. But, I am not sure that they would have been ready for 7am pick up on Friday so that extra day might be a good idea.

Once you know your Interview day you can call Medisys and they will tell you when you need to have the interview.

I was hoping that someone would say something regarding doing the medical and interview in the same trip. I live in Winnipeg and my husband wants to attend the interview with me, and we will both have to fly out of Winnipeg. That will be expensive enough. We are lucky in that my husband collects points towards free hotel stays when he travels for his job, and he has nearly enough points for about five nights at Holiday Inn Express out by the Consulate. I am just worried about the logistics. I am sure Medisys tries to accommodate where they can.

Is there anyone out there with this experience?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. It looks like unless you have a Friday interview its a minimum of a 8 night stay in Montreal. Probably 9 nights to play it safe. If you have a Friday interview you can do it in 6 assuming you can get your medical on Monday. But then you have both travel days on the weekend. I guess there is no cutting corners anywhere in this process. LOL. Good luck to all.

When I called to book my medical last week they told me since my interview was on a Thursday (18th) the latest I could do it was Monday (15th). I'm doing it the week before because I don't like cutting it so close, but they said it was fine.

For Medisys: You need 3 full business days. So if you have the medical on Tuesday, you can pick it up on Friday. I had mine Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't ready until Friday at 5pm. I had my interview Monday morning so had I known it was going to be so close, I would have done it on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. I was terrified I wouldn't get the medical back on time. I flew in Monday afternoon and flew out the afternoon of the interview. A hotel can keep your bags at their front desk for free.

Thanks! I also remember reading a review a long while back. I know it's doable, just will require some finesse :)

Thanks NLR. Hubby wants to do our honeymoon while we are there, seeing as how we haven't really had one yet and I am expecting our interview won't be until sometime in February. Our first anniversary is January 2, so it will be a nice (sorta late) present :star:
