AI&RL are a good current example of how "knowing" someone else's issued time is of no value. Use them as the yard stick and everyone will be waiting over a month.

And maybe we will take 6 weeks just like them. Probably not, but maybe. And if someone does go out to six weeks, because of their story that someone can see that he or she has not run into a serious problem but instead is just on the outer processing fringe like Al&RL was.

You can advocate all you want as to how people should disregard processing data from other people, but they are not wrong if they choose to not listen to you. This is the part you just don't seem to understand.

You complain about people panicking when they don't get their visa as quickly as they anticipate, and then you complain that people pay attention to the very data that stops them from panicking. You just can't have it both ways.

I am not complaining ... one way or the other. Just injecting MHO.. ;) There is no both ways... you rant and cry about your not having the visa issued 7 days after your interview.. I simply stated you have not been waiting long enough to warrant ranting, now AI&RL they had reason... but odds are there were "issues' to be further investigated before the embassy was willing to check off the last little box. Then you come back and say "what a great idea" to take poll of when someone got their visa, there I pointed out that there are already 58,000 + posts about that so an even greater idea would be to read them if "knowing" what timeline someone else got there visa is of value in your situation.

Yes you have the potential for a long wait, especially if USEM were to read some of your posts here on VJ regarding your anxiety for "why" you want Candy there quickly, that kind of stuff doesn't reflect "a genuine relationship". That stuff for sure is something to be mum about... that is the stuff the embassy uses for denials. If I were to delete any posts... those would be on my list. ;)

My point hasn't changed from when you first started to rant... you need more patience... no matter where you live. The visa will arrive when the visa arrives. Now we have a new person full of anxiety "needing to know"... and it is the same answer... just be patient, no need to stress yourself out.

If you think seeing "mirages" will make you feel better then have fun....

Hank

This is what you wrote a week and a half ago: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/484803-administrative-processingfrom-philippines-how-long-it-will-take/?p=7027362

Two weeks is not even considered a delay. If anything, it is fast. The normal non-delay visa turnaround time lately has been three weeks.

As you already knew, visa issuance delays are common right now. Therefore, you (and everyone applying for visas through USEM right now) should have anticipated the delay, instead of giving in to panic. In your own estimation, you are still within normal processing times.

Sharing timelines is a good way to be aware of current trends IMO, but one shouldn't pin their hopes on getting it as quickly as someone else, or assume that there could be a problem if it takes longer, which is why such data can also be dangerous if misinterpreted. Hope you and your fiance get the visa soon and that your upcoming surgery is a success.

Thank you for your very kind and caring words. But you do realize that at T+12 days we are nowhere near the finish line. We are not even out of the starting gate. The two administrative processing phases have not even started, much less put underway.

I posted again and again and again why I was in a panic at one point in time. I thought I was facing imminent cancer surgery and would somehow, some way, have to find my way to JFK Airport, handle luggage, retrieve my bride, and drive all of us back to my house while I was a fresh post op and still taking pain medication. But some people seem to gloss over that part.

This past Friday I got the semi good news that the surgery can indeed wait until Candy is here. That was when I moved to a calmer state. But those same people seem to gloss over that fact too. Funny how the people who jump all over me for allegedly glossing over facts are the ones who themselves gloss over the facts. These very same people are enjoying the drama so much that they just don't want to see the facts that get in the way of their entertainment.

I am not here for entertainment. I am here for the only thing people should be here for: Support for each other through our visa journeys. There is no excuse for ignoring a person's concerns, treating someone with contempt because the emotionally taxing journey has left him or her in a weakened emotional state, or subjecting another person to ridicule. But a few people here seem to think those contemptuous actions are perfectly fine.

I know the limitations of relying on someone else's data. And you articulated the usefulness of using another person's data perfectly: Seeing current trends. Yes, that is exactly what it is good for. Seeing current trends.

I am really tired of hearing how I am CURRENTLY in panic mode when all one has to do is read to see that that is not the case. And while I do not wish my cancer on anybody, I would like to see how many of you would fall into panic mode being in the situtation I was in until this past Friday. It seems my harshest critics are healthy men who were planning on spending three more weeks in the Philippines anyway last year after their wives got their visas, i.e. people who don't have a clue as to what it is like to be me.

i am sure that your fiance would not have minded delaying her arrival a few months if you were in no healthy state to pick her up from the airport and carry her bags. that is one of the reasons why the visa comes with a 6 month (more or less) validity date. or she could take a taxi. health comes first, and i do hope all will be well with you. :)

btw, i don't think anyone is trying to ridicule you or is 'enjoying the drama'. the way i read it, they were trying to calm you down and reassure you.

Delay a few months? Not a chance. Not one week. Not one day. The day after the visa is in her pocket, she is on the plane. And she is with me on that 100%. In fact she may be on the plane that night.

Yes she did offer to get herself to my house via public transportation. But it will be a cold day in hell that I don't take care of my solemn duty as her future husband to pick her up at the airport myself, even if I have to crawl there.

I am not accusing you of contempt by any means. But read some of the posts by a few select other people. They are dripping with contempt and ridicule. And one not too far up in this thread even resorted to intimidation tactics to try to shut me up. I know contempt when I see it. Calm me down and reassure me? You? Most defiintely. And I thank you for it. But these other people? WIth friends like them who needs enemies?

There ya go again.. T+12...really? With 5 of those days being weekends and holidays. Actual count = 7 days.

Ya every see that movie Flim Flam Man with George C Scott?

As for not having a clue what it is like being you... you are right. Which you are you talking? An impatient New Yorker or are you playing the sympathy card one more time, because you are dealing with cancer? Cancer or no cancer... has no "actual" bearing on this. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. You post again and again about your "need" to have Candy there to take care of you but that is not a reason to be issued a visa, in fact quite the opposite.

Healthy men are your harshest critcs? Are you referring to me? I am not a critic, I just ain't "buyin" what you are selling.. "woe is me BS"... the visa process has nothing to do with the petitioner's health.

As for health I am healthier then I was few years ago ... in case you want to ask. I just don't splatter it all over the internet trying to play a sympathy card.

A harsh critic would want to ask - Are you bringing Candy to the USA to be your "live in nurse" or simply put a smile in your day? From your conversations (again and again) your motives are not crystal clear for the smile in your day. A harsh critic would be all over that...

I have been up close and personal with cancer way too many times.

Whoa guys, simmer down...

This is a democratic forum. We should all just agree to disagree about this.. Everyone has a valid point and has freedom to express it. I hope my medical exam will go well and the visa will come 3 days after interview also, but can surely use some support if it takes 3 weeks instead.

Love and Peace and Good Luck to all! (L):luv:
