G-325A Biographic Information Question

Hey,

This is my first post here, me and my fiance are currently in the process of compiling our I-129F package and I have a question about the G-325A form. I am the foreign fiance, and due to my family situation I do not know the identity of my father and have always been raised by one parent.

I just wondered what I should put where it asks for information about my father? Should i put unknown, N/A, or just leave it blank?

I think I'm going to call the consulate on Monday anyway to ask, I don't want anything to be held up for a small mistake!

I would say 'Unknown'.

The correct answer for you would be: Unknown, because that is what your father is to you. N/A is not acceptable because you do have a father and leaving a question blank is just inviting an RFE.

For my Fiancee's Father, we wrote "UNKNOWN". It is what it is!!

I put "unknown" for my father. This is the correct response for the question. My I-129F was approved..no problems.

Make sure it matches your long form birth certificate as well (it should also say "unknown" or blank, however they do it in the U.K.)

Due to the fact that it is unknown information, you should put "unknown."

Wow, I didn't know so many people experienced this. I called USCIS and they of course said to leave it blank....duh. Don't take that advice.

We wrote UNKNOWN because you can't write N/A or NONE - there is a father he is just unknown. We had no problems. We did send my fiance's BC as proof that only his mother's name is on it (no mention of a father). When we had it translated that part of the BC was left out. Only his mother and grandparents are listed.
