Questions regarding I-864 and I-864A (split topic)

Does anyone know the answer to these questions that people have discussed above? I am in the exact situation! I am the petitioner, but wasn't working in 2013. My mom will be the joint sponsor (so she will do the I-864) and my dad will be a member of her household (and he will do the I-864A). They filed their taxes jointly. What do I put for their 2013, 2012, and 2011 income for each of the forms? Do I just take the adjusted gross income from their taxes and use that same number for the I-864 and I-864A? Or do I separate this income?

I already sent in all of the AOS files, but received an email stating that it needed to be fixed, as the numbers on the tax returns didn't match the numbers put on the I-864 and I-864A. Our case has been expedited and is already at our local consulate. We will need to take these corrected forms to our final interview, so I just want to make sure everything is perfect!

Correct. Head of household should always provide an I-864. Petitioner also provides an I-864. If the parent's don't make enough without combining with the petitioner, find a better qualified sponsor.

Just following this thread and I am in the same situation...so I just want to double check on the numbers I have to enter in for my parents.

I am the petitioner for my husband (a Frenchie). My mom is the joint sponsor and my dad is her household member. They filed their taxes together. So, for their income for the last three years - I just use the gross adjusted income from their tax returns for both the I-864 and I-864A? I don't try to separate out this information? And then for the question the says current income - my parents are both retired teachers, but they both have a small random job that happens from time to time. Do I use the same number from 2013, as it will be a similar amount?

My AOS was already rejected once at the NVC because the numbers didn't match up between the I-864 and I-864A. We were able to get our file expedited, so it's currently at our local consulate. We will have to bring these forms to the interview, so I just want to get these babies done perfectly!

First, current income has nothing to do with any tax return unless the sponsor is self employed. Take past tax information from line 22 of the 1040 with the same total for both parents.

Current income is what they will each make going forward 12 months from now from their regular job.

Your post in the other thread is quoted below. I didn't split it when I split the posts because you quoted the OP of that thread. Additionally, the other thread was 6 months old and the OP of that thread has been inactive for 3 months.

Yes, the past tax information will be the same for both of them. Adding the W2's or just using complete tax returns that would include the W2's anyway, is the best plan.
