Has anybody here or know anyone who extend their K1 visa. I have a friend who already have a K1 visa approved by USEM and her K1 visa 6 months validity will expire soon. Can she extend it if she can't leave for US before it expires and what will be the procedure to do the extension? Any advise will be appreciated. thank you.

She will have to contact the embassy for this, one requirement I recall is an additional $240 visa payment. Do pay attention to the wording, it states MAY issue which means it's at the embassies whim.

What if the fiancé(e) must delay their arrival in the U.S.?

The K-1 visa is valid for a maximum of six months. If the visa bearer is unable to leave for the United States immediately and the visa expires, a new one may be issued upon written request to the Embassy and the payment of another application fee of $240.

You cannot extend a K1 visa but may be re-issued one for a good reason. The consulate determines what are "good reasons" and it is at their discretion. You can ask but no assurance that you will automatically be re-issued a visa. Otherwise, you will have to re-apply and go through the whole thing again.

Sein oder Nichtsein, das ist heir die Frage.

The process allows her to "extend" the visa one time only. I don't know about "all" the other stuff posters have told you. I will add that it is not "advisable" to extend the visa as it can allow the CO to ask additional questions..., such as why, who, what for, is there a problem..., and so on. I hope this helps.

Best of luck!
