Lost high school documents: GCSE and A Levels

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone might be able to provide some advice.

My partner was educated in the UK but has lost all his high school documentation (GCSE and A levels - sorry if I've typed those wrong, he's from North Yorkshire so I don't understand him at the best of times).

He has done some research and has identified that he can get a Certified Statement of Results. Would this suffice to prove he has a high school education? We're going for the diversity lottery.

Thanks in advance, Em.

Partner's can not piggy back on Lottery wins, have to be spouses.

Probably, you could check with the Consulate but seems a bit premature, wait and see if you marry and win.

Sorry I should have been more clear. We are married (13 years and counting) so he will be able to come across with me.

Any advice would be appreciated guys. I'm sure he's not the first to have lost his documents!

I'm not over in the US yet, nor have I used them for anything, but I had to get all of my certificates (GCSE-Degree) replaced. The certifying statements of results look exactly like the certificates they are replacing and have the little holograms and heat sensitive spots etc just like a certificate. I can't see why they wouldn't be accepted anywhere.

Married that helps.

Did you win the lottery or is this hypothetical?

Thanks rhirhi. That makes me breathe a little easier. Good luck on your wedding. :)

Boiler, I've been selected for the next stage of DV2015. Exciting but unexpected, hence the flurry of activity to figure out what we need and, perhaps more importantly, what we don't have that we need to get.

That makes more sense.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Thanks for the help, Boiler. Much appreciated.

Given my overall level of confusion, my brother's immigration lawyer in the States is now assisting us pull everything together, so hopefully no more silly questions!

You should be able to tell from your number how likely you are to get a GC.
