Notice for retake of fingerprint - help!

Hi everyone! We filed for AOS and EAD last March 2014. I had my 1st Biometrics taken for both AOS and EAD before the end of March but apparently the prints were not good. I received a notice for a re-take of my fingerprints. The notice only states that it is for my AOS application and there is nothing for my EAD. What should I do? Will there be another mail for the EAD or will the fingerprints be good for both even without the notice for EAD?

P.S. My schedule is for May 16th but I plan to do a walk-in on Monday.

You should call and ask to a speak to a tier 2 representative about it, or make an Infopass and do the same. Sometimes the EAD is approved without biometrics (it's rare, but I've seen it happen more than once). It's possible that's what they are doing here, or it may be an oversight that your I-765 should have also been included on the biometrics appointment but wasn't.

Try using hand lotion in order to try to obtain a good set of fingerprints.

Thanks for the tip A&B! I did use lotion. I used Miracle of Aloe, and it helped moisturize my hands. I really saw improvements but still some of my prints were read and some were not. The staff there said to hope that it goes through. But we're getting ourselves ready that it may not (but still praying that it goes through. Thanks for the help everyone!!!

If they fail to be read a second time then you won't receive a third chance, but will instead be RFE'd for police certificates.

I had the same problem taking my fingerprint yesterday for first time. Almost all fingers came out with poor quality on the screen. I think I may have to take the second time. What I can do now is just wait and wait....

I heard that if the second time is rejected, some will get interview appointment and they will ask for police clearance to get approve.

Pat80, some sya Corn Huskers Hand Lotion works, but I can't find one. My husband found Miracle of Aloe and it seems effective. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond because it was out of stock at Wal-mart. Good luck and hope you won't be needing the lotion and your prints go through!
