Please advise me. I have done following steps

I filed I-130 Feb 18,2014 and submitted to Chicago USCIS office,

Few weeks after I received Form I-797C notice of action from taxes service center.

Notice State Feb 21, 2014, Priority date 20,2014 with receipt Number.

However, every time I try to check my case status I get message Invalid receipt number stating to

call customer service. Its been 60 days, I called customer service 4 times. The first 2 times i called

i was told to wait 30 to 45 days before receipt can show on case status. After 30 days i called again and my call was transfer to higher customer service

who explained that my receipt number is broken and will never show any results whats so ever. Now its been 60 days I called again, Again my call gets transfer to higher customer service. This time i was explained system has a glitch unfortunately, I can never track my case and will have to call every time I would like to know my case status.

Than, I decided to go to local USCIS office at information center, I was disappointed there as well. I was advised, there is nothing they can do on their end. The only thing they did was send an email requesting to send me another receipt #. It kind of worries me and that's why i am sharing my story to see if any one else has faced similar issue as me.

Thank You..

While you're at the USCIS, there really isn't anything to track online anyway. It will only show one status. "INITIAL REVIEW" they don't update anything. The next change of status will be " APPROVED"

Everyone calls to get an update. The problem is, the USCIS will only tell you it is still in process and you are within normal processing times. The Tier 1 and tier2 operators don't have any detailed information. They read off of a screen.

Never heard of this problem before...but sounds like a glitch in a technical system (not your paperwork since you got a receipt number). Probably a long shot, but why don't you try emailing the webmaster? Maybe they can figure it out?

We faced the exact same "glitch" problem and there was no remedy to the problem. The good news is that it is a glitch and as long as you have a case number and 797 you should be fine. We suggest that you call often--go to that second level each time--for your own peace of mind but also to create a record of your inquiries in case it is needed in the future. (e.g., writing your senator) The process is slow and frustrating to say the least. We found that calling was much more productive and timely than any of the web-based resources they provide.

In the end everything was fine and we were approved. Good luck on your journey!
