I'm in the US with k1 visa, havent filed for AOS yet. Going back to Philippines for an emergency. Aware that cannot come back to US with k1, gonna file for CR1 later instead. How long is the process, will it be hard? We got married in the US within 90 days of arrival. He doesnt work, but has Sociap Security, will it be enough? Thanks all.

The CR-1 process will take 12-16 months based on current trends.

If he only has social security income, how did he meet the original requirements for the K-1? Must have had a co-sponsor?

Do you really want to spend a year and a half apart? You might want to let someone else handle the emergency....

Unless he starts working again soon, you would likely need to find a co-sponsor in this situation.
