OK, So I have FIANALLY picked up my Fiancee visa at the DHL! woohoo!

Im so happy I will be going to my baby on May 1st. woohoo!

Now, the thing IM kind of concerned about is.. I opened the DHL packet where I found my passport, a yellow packet/envelope and some instruccions. PROBLEM IS.. the yellow envelope is ripped at the bottom!!! look at the picture! SHOULD I TAPE IT? OR WHAT CAN I DO? Im afraid it can rip more!

If the hole is big enough that something could be taken out of the packet, then you need to get a new one. If it is jut a small hole it is fine. I can't tell from the photo if something could be taken out of it. Good luck.

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package

Best to contact your embassy on how to deal with this. The immigration officer at your POE might suspect that you might have tried opening it, so don't risk it. Your embassy will re-seal it for you. I have read of such experiences here in VJ, and they had no issues having it re-sealed.

p.s. It might be a good idea to use scissors to cut 1 side (straight line) of the DHL package next time. Avoiding the contents, of course. :)

Contact the Juarez consulate and ask them what you should do. I believe they will need to reseal the papers for you. I know you did not stay in Juarez, so ask them if it is possible to get the packet resealed by sending the papers back and forth through DHL again, or if it is a must that you return to Juarez in person.

I second what Kay said. You do not want to take the chance to enter the US at your POE and have any problems. I read a few posts last year where people had the same problem you have and were able to send the package back to Ciudad Juarez via DHL and received a new sealed package back at their local DHL office within 10 days.
