When must my foreign fiance complete the DS-160

Hello there,

I would appreciate some direction. I am an American Citizen, and my partner is a Citizen of the United Kingdom. We are about to start the k-1 visa process, and I am quite confused as to when my partner will need to complete the DS-160 Form. Can anyone please offer some hints, and guidance. Thanks so much.

It is the first step in the visa application process. The I-129F is not an application for a visa. It is a petition filed by the US citizen, and once approved allows the foreign fiance(e) to apply for the K-1 visa at the consulate in their country.

If nothing has been filed yet, then the I-129F petition is the first step in the overall process.

correct me if im wrong, i heard either the petitioner or the benefitiary can fill this out as ling as the benefitiary has a copy to the interview

Fill out what? The I-129F is filed by the USC petitioner, but has required supporting documentation that the foreign fiance(e) must also provide. Everything required is found in the guide here and the I-129F form instructions.
